spring is visiting

So exciting to see spring
finally making an appearance.
However, the weather reports say 30's again tomorrow.

But today
the sun is shining
and I am starting a spring flower embroidery project.

Happy Easter!

....I think I need to put some water in my bird bath...

pink ranunculus

The dreary bare earth outside
combined with the anticipation of spring
makes the bouquets in the store look better than ever.
Here is a pink ranunculus that was calling my name.

I'm not a fan of dressing up animals but...
this is too adorable not to share

Martha Washington Geranium

We needed to prune the flowers
off the Martha Washington Geraniums
at the Oak Park Conservatory.
They just were blooming a bit too early for their upcoming show.
While it was painful to cut them back
they made beautiful bouquets.

Here are two stems in a tiny bud vase.
I’m shocked they have remained fresh looking
for several days now.

This euphorbia was such a surprise
when volunteering at the Oak Park Conservatory.

Each of these seedlings
seems like a little universe unto itself.
Trying to take them all in
is fascinating and almost overwhelming
at the same time.
