Free Floral Tag Download from the Packagery

On PoppyTalk they have a link to a free download
of these wonderful floral tags.
They are a perfect pick me up to our grey days of winter
and felt the need to share.
And just discovered the Packagery as a result.
Beautiful blog Caitlin!

What was the last book that changed your life?

Leaf Stitch

Needlepoint has been calling my name.
I love all of the textures available.
Not to mention the addictive yarn and thread options.
Here is a leaf stitch.
Not surprising I’m attracted to botanicals.

violas or pansies?

Are these violas or pansies?
I seem to lump them together under the pansy catagory
however I think theses are actually violas.
Whatever they are,
they remind me spring is going to come.
Eventually.

Quote: Lucky to Be Different

This is one of my favorite quotes.
Usually you figure this out as you get older.
No wonder I hear Taylor Swift is such a great songwriter.

Channa Masala

channa masala and sauteed spinach
Channa Masala is one of my favorite Indian dishes,
in restaurants.
I’ve never found a recipe I’ve like until now.
Since going vegan (okay, practically vegan)
I’ve been searching sites for good recipes
and I’ve been making adjustments to use vegetable stock
instead of olive oil, for sautéing.
Lindsay Nixon, the Happy Herbivore,
already cooks that way and have found many good recipes on her site.
This Channa Masala is just one of them.
Thanks Lindsay!

ORGANIZE Platters

Martha's team has a great idea.
Use curtain tension rods
to create verticle space for platters
and boards.

Think Pink - Tunnel Vision

I seem to have a challenging time
introducing new items to my store
and blogging.
Tunnel vision is alive and well in my home.
Have many ideas in the works,
as a result I have not been blogging on a regular basis.
Above are a few new pink books,
just in time for Valentine’s Day.

YOGA

My yoga mat and a wonderful batik pouch my sister made for me awhile back.
That pouch is perfect for holding my locker lock, keyes and id.

Well I’ve finally done it.
I  went to my first yoga class.
I arrived at a jaw dropping 5:30 am and twisted and turned.
Frankly I’m thrilled I didn’t fall on my face!
I actually left standing a bit straighter and with a peaceful zen.
It lasted…
a few minutes anyway.

Seeds Are Arriving

The seeds I’ve ordered are arriving.
Here are a few of the vegetable seeds I have ordered.
The plan is to incorporate them into my garden
rather than have the vegetable beds separate from my perennials.
The last few years I’ve avoided green beans
because they have blended in so well with their leaves
I didn’t realize they were ready for harvesting until they were, well,
a bit mushy.
This time I am trying to outsmart the plant and choose beans
that have and an alternate color
I’m taking my chances with the edamame….
