Frost Warning

Princess Irene Tulips and Leucojum aestivum (Summer Snowflake)

The joys of spring.

Teasing 80 degree days that threaten to plummet to below freezing overnight. We scurry to cover the tender flowers just emerging and make a bouquet flowers….just in case. While these are cool weather flowers that would likely survive fine, it was….ah well….it was an excuse to make a small bouquet.

The leucojum blooms are awesome. I don't think I've ever heard of them before.

They are amazing! I bought them in a bouquet once and it took me years to find them to plant in my garden...it was challenging because no one knew their name.

Slow to spread but after a few years they are fantastic.
