PlanTrivia - Lily of the Valley

Convallaria majalis means “you will find happiness”

I’m also told, according to Christian Legend, it is called Our Lady's Tears. According to this legend, the lily of the valley came into being from Eve's tears after she was driven with Adam from the Garden of Eden.

Either way, after blooming you can dig up these lovely plants, separate them, and place it in your most infertile locations. As long as you keep it moist it will do well. So far I have only one small clump. Here’s hoping this highly perfumed flower finds it home in many corners of my landscape.
